Overview:

Solution Architect will primarily work within the Technology Vertical team of the Analytics process and will report in to the Technology Lead (Deputy General Manager). The Solution Architect will not be aligned to any particular domain or a particular solution, but will work across multiple solutions and at times, will also be involved in projects, primarily from technology solution and set up perspective. The Solution Architect should be an expert on the Business Intelligence technologies, primarily SAS BI. Knowledge of other BI technologies like Cognos & MS BI would be a huge advantage. The person should be extremely strong on Data Warehousing principles. The person should also have expertise on databases, primarily Teradata, knowledge of Oracle and DB2 databases will be added advantage. The person should also have good knowledge of Java Programming and SQL scripting. The primary responsibility would be from designing of solutions to managing the development from the technology standpoint. The Solution Architect would also be expected to explore new technologies in the market as well. The goal of the Technology team is to enable the Analytics function to provide delivery services by developing or bringing in new solutions and / or technologies.

Essential Job Functions:
Solution designing : Create solutions designs for the development team to build the solutions
Research : Do the necessary research to figure out the best solutions / technologies to be used for solution building
Maintenance and Upgrades – Provide necessary inputs for enhancing the solution’s performance and to cater to ever increasing needs of the customers
Interact with the delivery teams and business development / pre sales teams to identify newer solutions to be built
Projects : On case to case basis, work with the customer teams to set up the technology framework for the analytical solution delivery
Business Development : Work with the business development and pre sales team to prepare the technology solution framework
Hardware : Provide the necessary inputs for setting up the infrastructure to develop and deliver the solutions and services

Necessary Skills:
Extremely good knowledge of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence concepts
Should have expertise on Database designing
Core skill set should be on SAS BI
Experience on Cognos and MS BI will be a huge advantage
Should have expertise on Teradata DB.
Experience on Oracle and DB2 databases will be an advantage.
Should have experience on Java programming and SQL scripting
Working knowledge of ETL tools (Informatica / Datastage) is desirable
Ability to apply advanced analysis methodologies, interpret and present findings in a clear, concise manner, including the creation and use of tables, charts and graphics to summarize results.
Ability to prepare clear and comprehensive reports.
Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with essential job functions.
Excellent oral and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education/Experience:
B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in any field
Minimum 9 years experience in IT industry with at least 2 years as a BI Architect
